Alaska Sport Fishing Survey

The Sport Fish Division has conducted a mail survey to estimate sport fishing total harvest (fish kept) since 1977 and total catch (fish kept plus fish released) since 1990. The estimates derived from this survey are available online through this application for study years 1996 through 2008. For estimates prior to 1996, please refer to the historic publications.

Some area boundaries have been redefined throughout the years reflected in this survey. All estimates reported herein will be based on the current survey area boundaries as of study year 2008.

Prior to 1997, area (I) Upper Copper River drainage was considered part of Southcentral Alaska region.
