| The only shellfish permit required in Southcentral Alaska is for shrimp in the North Gulf Coast area, subject to the open season and regulations found under "NGC Shrimp Fishery" on the Southcentral Alaska regulations web site. Although there may be no permits required for other shellfish, please check the regulations for open seasons and limits. Some shellfish fisheries are closed year-round due to low population levels.
