SILVER SALMON BAG LIMIT IN THE BUSKIN RIVER INCREASES TO 5 PER DAY, EFFECTIVE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30.

On September 27 and 28, over 7,000 silvers were counted through the Buskin River weir.  This brings the total count to over 10,500 fish as of September 28; well over the upper end of the escapement goal range of 3,200 – 7,200 silvers.

The current daily limit for salmon (other than kings) 20 inches or longer from the Kodiak Road System is five per day and five in possession, of which only two can be silvers. However, on the Buskin River starting at 12:01 a.m. Friday, September 30, all five of the daily limit may be silver salmon.

This emergency order does not affect other Kodiak Road System streams, where only two of the daily limit may be silver salmon.
