BUSKIN RIVER SOCKEYE (RED) SALMON BAG LIMITS INCREASE TO FIVE ON JUNE 9
Through June 7, 4,795 sockeye salmon have entered Buskin Lake. Currently, more than 18,000 sockeye salmon are projected to return, well above the upper end of the escapement goal range of 8,000 – 13,000 fish.
In order to provide additional sport fish harvest opportunity, anglers fishing in the Buskin River may keep five sockeye salmon 20” or longer per day instead of only two.
This emergency order will be in effect June 9 through July 15.
